IoT symposium 2015

IoT Living Connections

Watch the key note speakers here

Connectivity changes the way we live and do business. Machine-to-machine communication now plays an important role in business and society. The number of connected things in the Nordic countries, the hotspot of M2M, now exceeds the region's population. The number keeps growing, as do the opportunities. And now it's time to take the next step.

Reengineering of Business

Virtually anything can become connected. There are 1,620,000* items of connected office equipment in e Nordic countries today. And what happens when, say, a coffee machine gets connected? Maintenance becomes cheaper and more efficient when the machine can file its own status reports, but a more communicative machine also enables new services. How about equipping it with an information screen? After all, the coffee machine is the social hub of almost every office. And suddenly, the coffee machine company can make the leap into another line of business.

Transformation of Societies and Nations

1,894** connected vehicles are delivered every day in the Nordics. M2M offers many other ways to optimize transport solutions. Freight loads can be connected, for example, including the most precious of cargos – people. M2M has the potential to improve planning and control of public transport. Traffic flow can be directed with great precision, commuters can get access to information, and emergency transports become safer. Public transport will be smarter than ever before.

Personal and Social Revolution

The internet of things enables business development and improvements to society. It also supports better decision-making when we harvest and refine its precious byproduct: information. Today there are over 20 billion connected devices in the world. Just imagine the amounts of data they generate – and what will happen when that information is really put to use.
