Yepzon Group, a Finnish developer of wearable technologies and smart clothing applications, has chosen TeliaSonera‘s M2M-solution to connect its wearable application to keep children safe across markets in Europe, Russia and the US.

Modern technology can help keep children safe. The safety technology developed by Yepzon combines positioning technologies, mobile equipment and a new type of cloud service. The small and lightweight Yepzon positioning device conveniently goes where the child goes. If the child gets lost, Yepzon’s universal user interface enables positioning from near or far. The device and application works in all European countries, the US and Russia and on all key smartphone platforms. It is easy and safe to use. The customer does not need to register personal information and no user credentials are required.

“Our wearable application to keep children safe depends on secure and reliable connectivity and TeliaSonera provides that to us across markets through one platform to manage subscriptions for all devices that can easily scale as we grow our global business. They also have an attractive business model with fixed fees for connectivity in all countries where our application is used, which means we can offer the application to our customers at an attractive price point”, says Otto Linna, CEO and co-founder of Yepzon Group.

The company will deploy TeliaSonera’s m2m-platform to manage subscriptions for its products across markets and will allow for Yepzon Group to enter new markets and to manage large volumes of m2m-subscriptions through one user interface. The platform also enables Yepzon to provide one connected device that works in all European countries, the US and Russia. Customers can move between these countries and use the application without hassle. If they want to bring the device to other countries they can easily do that through an add-on service available at Yepzon’s webportal. TeliaSonera will provide 24/7 support to Yepzon Group.

The wearable application has already generated a large number of pre-orders and will officially launch in time for Christmas this year, at which time sales of the product will start through local retailers in Finland, Italy, Russia and the UK. The product will also be available through Yepzon’s webshop throughout Europe.
