New Head of TeliaSonera Estonia
Dan Strömberg, currently CEO Omnitel in Lithuania, has been appointed Head of TeliaSonera Estonia and CEO for Eesti Telekom. Valdo Kalm, current CEO of Eesti Telekom, will take on a role as Senior Advisor Region Europe and continue to report to Robert Andersson, EVP Head of Region Europe.
Valdo Kalm has served Eesti Telekom since 1986 and has had several senior leadership roles. He has been in the management team since 1997 and CEO since 2000. As a CEO of Eesti Telekom Valdo has been responsible for the integration of TeliaSonera’s companies EMT and Elion into today’s Eesti Telekom.
“Valdo has done great job over the years, most recently integrating our two companies in Estonia and subsequently as CEO of the new integrated company and his experience will be utilized further in his new, more strategic role as a Senior Advisor for Region Europe. In order to continue the positive development of Eesti Telekom and to become a New Generation Telco we have appointed Dan Strömberg as the new CEO. Dan Strömberg’s task is to continue the execution to become the leading converged operator in Estonia, secure a strong market position and at the same time strengthen the TeliaSonera Group co-operation. In Dan Strömberg I know that we have a leader who can deliver on all those areas.” says Robert Andersson.
Dan Strömberg has been CEO of Omnitel in Lithuania since 2013. Prior to that Dan was Head of Telia Brodband Business in Denmark 2009-2012. Overall, Dan has more than 20 years’ experience in different leading positions in TeliaSonera, and has "know-how" in achieving results in difficult market conditions.
Valdo will continue as Senior Advisor Region Europe and work together with Robert Andersson and team Europe. All this is effective as of January 1st, 2016, which is also the same time as Kęstutis Šliužas, current CEO Teo, will take over as Head of Lithuania and integration of Omnitel and Teo will be operational.
