Swedes get free surf on social – if they’re nice to each other

As the first operator in the world, Telia Sweden offers customers free surf on the most popular social media sites and apps, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. There’s only one condition – be nice!

Swedes have really gone social. Two out three Swedes are using social media on daily basis and the number is growing by the day.

- We just love social media! It lets you stay in touch with family and friends at any time or place. And we see that families are increasingly relying on social media to make everyday life a bit smoother. To make it even easier for our customers we now offer them free surf on the most popular social media apps and sites, says Jonas Hasselberg, Head of Telia Sweden Consumer business.

As the world’s first, Telia Sweden is offering free surf on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Twitter and Kik.

- As of today, data buckets and plans are not affected when using these services – but you have to promise to be nice! There’s a downside to social with bulling and threats and we want to take a stance against this. That’s why we’ve launched the campaign #hatahat (“Hate the hate”) together with the anti-bulling organization Friends. We want to make the internet a better and more caring place, says Jonas Hasselberg.

Molly Sandén, famous popstar, and Magnus Carlsson, singer and composer, have made a song and video as part of the #hatahat campaign.
