Double victory for Telia at Mobile Gala

Telia SurfPort is the largest mobile portal in the Nordic and Baltic regions with over one million users. Via SurfPort, it is possible to watch TV, download music, listen to the radio or use one of the many services available for both business and pleasure. Aftonbladet, Svenska spel, CNN and SMHI are just a few examples of companies whose services are available on the Swedish portal.

“During the past year, more and more customers have discovered the benefits of Telia SurfPort and we are fully focused on continuously changing and improving its content. That is what makes it extra exciting to receive this kind of recognition from our customers,” says Indra Åsander, head of the consumer market at TeliaSonera Sweden.

Telia Surfport works with all of Telia’s mobile subscriptions as well as the prepaid card Telia Refill. These Telia customers only need to register, which can easily be done via SMS. The price for surfing via a mobile on Surfport is a maximum of SEK 9 per 24 hour period (valid until December 31, 2006).

Telia’s second Gold Mobile was in the category “Solution of the Year for 3G data”. The Option PC card is included in Telia Connect Pro and is a service that allows users to easily connect to the Internet and log on to their companies’ local networks. This type of mobile data service is becoming more common, and it also had its breakthrough on the consumer market in 2006.

“Mobile data services have increased over 400 percent in one year and the trend is clear: more and more users are choosing to connect to the Internet outside of the home and office. This indicates that the PC card currently represents approximately half of the total mobile traffic,” says Anders Tillander, head of the business market at TeliaSonera Sweden.
