TeliaSonera signs a SEK 100 million Managed Service agreement with WM-data

TeliaSonera and WM-data have signed a three-year managed service agreement on telephony. The three-year agreement, valued at approximately SEK 100 million, relates to the delivery of IP and mobile telephony subscriptions to WM-data employees in Sweden.

The agreement is a so-called managed service agreement, which means that TeliaSonera is responsible for ensuring that the managed service “telephony” functions as agreed, that it is developed on the basis of the customer’s needs and that technical equipment is maintained. The purpose is to create a common telecommunications structure for all WM-data offices in Sweden and to build a structure that provides improvements and savings to the customer.

– This is a new way of purchasing communications services, says Dan Strömberg, Senior Vice President responsible for TeliaSonera’s Global Accounts. A growing number of companies want to buy communications services as a ready-to-use package that is easy to implement and maintain.

About Managed Services
The agreement signed with WM-data is part of Telia’s initiative to focus on managed services. To put it simply, managed services mean that TeliaSonera assumes total responsibility for the technology behind the communications service and the customer purchases a managed function, such as telephony.
