Strong development since mid 2005: Four times increase in Swedish business customers with TeliaSonera managed service agreements

TeliaSonera’s efforts to provide companies with managed services have been successful. Today TeliaSonera has 200 business customers in managed services in Sweden, which is four times more than in the middle of 2005.



“We offer high-quality infrastructure and communications services that improve the productivity of companies, which is what the customers want,” says Dan Strömberg, Head of Global Accounts for Integrated Enterprise Services at TeliaSonera. “Through managed services customers benefit from our top competence and do not need to invest in communications resources and infrastructure of their own.”



TeliaSonera managed services imply for instance that TeliaSonera takes full responsibility for the business customer’s communications solution, including integration, maintenance and support amongst other services. Consequently, the customer does not need to invest in infrastructure of their own but rent the part they need.



Managed services are bought primarily by large international corporations, but they are becoming more and more common even among medium-sized companies and organizations and in the public sector. The most sought-after service solutions relate to switchboards, voice communications, the Internet (WAN), and company networks (LAN and IPVPN). However, the trend is shifting towards an increased demand for managed services even as regards business-driven value-added services, such as customer service systems, machine-to-machine communications, and communications services for field workers.



“Communications services are evolving from supporting business to driving business,” says Dan Strömberg. “Customers want to use new communications services increasingly often to improve their customer service and to streamline their operations. They wish to expedite their work processes by means of mobile services, such as mobile incident management.”



Mobile Device Management – the next big service

As the mobile phone gains new uses, there is a growing need for comprehensive support for mobile terminals in the form of installations, back-up, security, and integration with business systems. TeliaSonera offers a solution to meet the new needs: Mobile Device Management.



“We believe that there will be a strong demand for Mobile Device Management among our customers in the future,” says Dan Strömberg. “Companies are used to having good support for their computers, and in the near future they are going to expect similar support for their mobile phones.”
