Helpson Home Support available in all Finnish municipalities

The technical support service Helpson has expanded its services and is now available in all Finnish municipalities. In the past six months the number of house calls has doubled, and in September the customer figures of Helpson's telephone support reached an all time high.

So far, most of the problems have related to broadband modems and access. Other problems have included those related to WLAN, e-mail, information security and hardware installations. As from the beginning of October, the Helpson specialists offer professional assistance in all of Finland’s more than 400 municipalities, from Hanko in the south to Utsjoki in the north, and from Eckerö in the west to Ilomantsi in the east.

”Professional specialists are now easily and quickly available to everybody. It is important for us to be able to offer our customers extensive service not just over the phone but in their homes, too. Almost all Finnish homes share the same IT problems, and the benefits of professional assistance can be seen in everyday situations in the form of functioning equipment and connections,” says Antti Rajala, Senior Manager of Helpson Sales & Marketing.

The customer numbers of the Helpson service, launched in spring 2008, show that Finnish consumers are now increasingly willing to use technical services. The number of Helpson house calls has doubled since spring and early summer 2008. In terms of telephone support, September was a record-breaking busy month.

“In future, the threshold for using paid services will be even lower, as IT services become tax deductible within the system of domestic help credit in 2009. With the extension of the domestic help credit system, it will be easier for Finnish consumers to utilize the tax deduction,” Antti Rajala continues.

New web store
The completely revamped Helpson web store has opened. The store offers a comprehensive range of basic IT and home entertainment products, and the product range has been made as user-friendly as possible.

“The acquisition of equipment and accessories for the technical solutions of the home can easily become as big a bugbear as equipment maintenance and repair. In this area, too, we offer an easy and affordable alternative to facilitate everyday life,” concludes Antti Rajala.
