TeliaSonera partners with the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) for support and review of its corporate human rights work
The work is to be finalized during 2012 and will include: an independent expert review by DIHR of the results achieved and an appraisal of TeliaSonera’s mitigation plan addressing potential negative impacts.
“TeliaSonera is very pleased to be able to work together with DIHR, a global leader on human rights and business issues. We gain from their respected human rights expertise and at the same time get valuable third party input to our human rights impact assessment” says Eija Pitkänen, Head of Corporate Responsibility, and TeliaSonera.
DIHR is a member of a network of 120 national human rights institutions worldwide. It has worked closely with business and human right communities since 1999 to develop tools and standards for instilling better business practice in the context of human rights.
DIHR is one of the leading national human rights institutions in the world playing a directing role in the development and implementation of human rights nationally and internationally (http://www.humanrights.dk/).
