Starting in September 2012, CEOs in five Eurasian operations will change positions. CEO and top management rotation has been a long-term practice in TeliaSonera Eurasia, aimed at developing the business, maintaining good corporate governance and taking advantage of versatile experience within the region.
According to the rotation plan, the current CEO of Azercell in Azerbaijan, Mr. Ali Agan will move to Uzbekistan to head TeliaSonera’s subsidiary Ucell in that country. His will be replaced by Mr. Chiril Gaburici, CEO of Moldova-based Moldcell, while the current sales director of Moldcell, Mr. Barkin Secen is promoted to Moldcell CEO post.
Mr. Osman Turan, CEO of Geocell in Georgia and Mr. Pasi Koistinen, CEO of Ncell in Nepal will exchange their duties.
The future plans for Mr. Oguz Memiguven, CEO of Ucell, will be announced later.
“The CEOs in business area Eurasia have been in their positions for 3-5 years or even longer. All of them have proven to be very successful in their roles. We have initiated the CEO rotation to ensure that the business area will benefit from new perspectives and different ways of working. At the same time it gives our CEO’s the opportunity of broadening their view, gaining valuable experience and taking up new challenges in their careers. This is what makes us truly international, pioneering, agile and unique,” says Tero Kivisaari, President of Business Area Eurasia.
