TeliaSonera Sustainability Update

This week TeliaSonera hosted a Sustainability update with selected stakeholders and shareholders as part of an effort to share what TeliaSonera is doing within this field.

We believe that engaging in dialogue regarding the dilemmas and challenges we face as a company and an industry is the way forward. At the meeting TeliaSonera’s president and CEO Johan Dennelind talked with the Uzbek politician in exile, Pulatjan Ahunov and the former Swedish ambassador to Russia, Tomas Bertelman. They shared their view on Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region. Pulatjan Ahunov argued that the more Western companies in Uzbekistan, the better it is for development.
This was not only the first Sustainability update for Johan Dennelind as CEO but also for TeliaSonera’s Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Michaela Ahlberg. In order to build a solid sustainability foundation TeliaSonera needs to have a best in class ethics and compliance program in place. Michaela is in the process of recruiting resources to take on the task. TeliaSonera Head of Sustainability Eija Pitkänen provided an update on the steps taken since the previous dialogue in this forum of large shareholders in March.
