Tech community in Stockholm for giant party
The future of tech is really about collaboration. At the ongoing Tech Fest in Stockholm, Telia Company launched Scale your business, a mentor program where start-ups can have expert advice at their side during six to 12 months.
The start-up scene in Stockholm is growing exponentially. In just the first six month of 2016, 1.2 billion USD has been invested in the sector.
Future is collaboration
Telia Company is a major tech player and Brendan Ives, Head of Division X, held a short introductory speech in the morning of the first day of Sthlm Tech Fest. “We have met with more than 500 companies in the last 12 months, we have coached some 50 plus companies and have invested 1.3 billion SEK in seven companies. We are very much committed to working with partners. The future of tech is really about collaboration.”

The biggest start-up
The first day of Sthlm Tech Fest was packed with seminars where a long list of tech celebrities took part. During a session that was sponsored by Telia and Ericsson the audience got to listen to Elin Elkehag, founder and CEO of Stilla, and Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO of Klarna, who discussed the future of tech together with Hélène Barnekow, CEO of Telia Sweden. “Despite that we are a company which is 163 years old we have to challenge ourselves to be the biggest start-up in town. We have to reinvent ourselves and we need the start-up community to digitalise society.”
Sthlm Tech Fest continues on Tuesday (September 6) with Solutions where tech entreprenuers and investors will join with leading policy makers, foundations and NGOs, in an event to showcase and inspire solutions to the UN Global Goals.
Telia Company's President and CEO, Johan Dennelind, will attend Solutions and host the Solutions for Cities program.
