Telia Company supports further steps towards Nordic and Baltic 5G leadership

The announcement by the Nordic and Baltic governments at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona that they will be developing a joint Nordic-Baltic Action Plan for 5G is a good step in the right direction, according to Johan Dennelind, President and CEO of Telia Company.

The announcement included elements such as better spectrum assignment, collaboration across public and private sectors and support for roll out of networks in metropolitan areas which are positive signals for investors in 5G in the region and for the Nordic and Baltic countries overall.

This development is a good step in the right direction and Telia Company encourages further cooperation.

"Great sign"

Telia Company has been a vocal advocate of stronger Nordic and Baltic cooperation and the need for all stakeholders to set a vision and an aspiration towards a Gigabit society with Terabit territories. “It’s a great sign for the region and one I have been calling for; greater collaboration and cooperation in the Nordic and Baltic ecosystem is vital and I highlighted this point at Mobile World Congress this week. The opportunities from our region being the cradle of digitalisation are profound,” says Johan Dennelind, President and CEO of Telia Company.
Telia Company will continue to support its vision which is now shared by the governments of the Nordic and Baltics.
