Telia Company donates to charity if people reach out to strangers
Telia launches new online service in Finland where you can donate money to charity by chatting to a stranger and making a connection.
The Bubble breaker online service is a new concept which encourages users to chat and connect with strangers who have things in common. For every new connection made through the service, Telia will donate five euros to the connected users’ chosen charity.
According to a survey by the Finnish Red Cross, one third of Finns only talk to strangers once a month or less. At the same time, 65 per cent want to be more social and connect more with other people. Another survey found 75 per cent of the respondents were worried about the divide amongst people in Finland.
Telia’s new online service is aimed at reaching out to strangers and helping people make friends, says Erna Rusi, Director Brand & Consumer Marketing at Telia in Finland.
“We want to connect people and encourage dialogue. With Bubble breaker we give everyone a chance to be part of and do something good,” she says.
The service can be found at https://rikokuplasi.telia.fi/?lang=en. People log into the service with their Facebook accounts and the service introduces them on the basis of mutual interests.
