Telia brings world cup skiing to everyone

Bring on the action – it's time for the grand finale of the alpine skiing world cup. And as the skiers battle it out on the slopes in Åre, Sweden, from today, onlookers, visitors, media, event staff and anyone else will have access to high-quality connection, courtesy of Telia Company. Because Telia is the official telecom partner and main supplier to the event – and is onsite to meet the crowds.

Right now in Åre, Telia provides wifi powerful enough to accommodate all aspects of the week's competitions. Furthermore, the agreement makes Telia the main supplier for the 2019 Åre World Cup as well.

Telia has a visitors' stand near the action, and in the Åre Telia store anyone can meet Telia experts and learn more about, for example, the solution for connected cars; Telia Sense. There will also be lots of opportunities to try other solutions and services from Telia, such as Telia Zone and Personal Technician.

"The digital experience is incredibly important today, and during major sports events it is crucial," says Telia Sweden CEO Hélène Barnekow. "This is a huge festival, and it feels fantastic that we're the main supplier to the world cup competitions. We'll be able to give all visitors the chance to share their experience with family and friends anywhere. We are passionate about digitalizing the whole of Sweden, and here we also get the opportunity to do it on a regional level. It's great."
