Telia Company takes Pride in diversity
Telia Company is gearing up to celebrate and unite in support for diversity and Pride.
Pride season is here and many are getting ready for the festivities, held all over the world to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer culture and pride and to support diversity and equality.
Telia is showcasing its support of Pride in partnership with the employee volunteer program YOUNITE by participating in the festivities in Denmark, Finland, Norway and the Europride in Sweden and by raising awareness of inclusion through the power of digital. Anne Larilahti, Head of Sustainability at Telia, says that this is one way for the company to show its support for diversity and equality.
„Telia is a company that stands up for diversity and strives to build an inclusive culture, a place where every employee can be themselves, and a home with equal access to opportunities. “Pride is an event we are proud to endorse because we believe in diversity. By expressing our support for colleagues and customers in the Nordics and Baltics participating in the Pride festivities, we want to make it clear that the company is for equality for all, in and out of the workplace, in all our markets,” she says.
Pride is celebrated globally during the summertime with cultural festivals, street parades, parties and public speeches to commemorate the police-provoked riots among homosexuals which took place in New York in June 1969.
