“We are happy and proud to be the main partner to this prestigious music prize. Music has an amazing ability to bring people together across the world, which is fully in line with our purpose – “Bringing the world closer”. Digitalization has completely changed the way we listen to and crate music. We hope that through this sponsorship, we will be able to bring to light the positive impact of music, as well as the link between music and the technology of the future, says Susann Johnsson, Head of Brand & Insight at Telia Company.

Telia Company is already heavily involved in the music industry. In 2009, the company entered into a partnership with Spotify and it has also invested in Soundtrack Your Brand and Zound Industries.

This year’s Polar Talks will focus on the impact of music on democratization. The talk will cover, among other things, what happens when new spaces are created for meetings between people in power and creatives, and how the power of music can be used to create bridges between industries, communities and cultures. The Polar Talks will be hosted by Lisa Lindström, CEO at Doberman, and Anna Ryott, Chair at Summa Equity.

The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 by the late Stig ”Stikkan” Anderson, former publisher, lyricist and manager of ABBA. The Polar Music Prize is one of the most prestigious and unique music prizes in the world, crossing over musical boundaries and awarded to individuals, groups and institutions in recognition of exceptional achievements.
