Telia wins Norwegian police contract
The Norwegian Police Service has selected Telia and Telia-owned Phonero as the primary supplier for all its fixed and mobile telephony.
Since the police are dependent on communications technology to deliver their core mission, the provider must be trusted to fulfill all their needs.
“The Norwegian police play a critical role in society, and we are proud and honored that they have selected us as their supplier,” says Jon Christian Hillestad, Head of B2B, Telia Norway. “The police are dependent on reliable communications technology in their everyday life and our solutions and technology are crucial to fulfill their mission in the best possible way.”
The agreement covers around 24,000 mobile subscriptions, as well as the business network and fixed telephony. The contract period is for three years, with the option of extension for one year at a time for three years.
This deal strengthens Telia’s position as a partner to public sector customers. Figures from the Norwegian National Communications Authority show that Telia is the fastest growing player in the enterprise segment. It already has over 100 municipalities as customers, as well as the Norway’s public procurement center with its 107 state enterprises, and the Armed Forces.
