Telia recognized for world-leading network services
For the second year in a row, Telia Company has been included in research and advisory company Gartner's own “Magic Quadrant”, which recognizes network service providers for their vision and their ability to execute on services and strategy. This time, Telia Company is recognized for “Network services, Global”.
This year’s Magic Quadrant report evaluated 19 global WAN providers, and the results are commonly used as a guide by large companies looking to make procurements.
Telia is the largest network service provider in the Nordic and Baltics, and offers global network services through Telia Carrier, including global Internet Services, Ethernet, MPLS, Cloud Connect, IoT backbone services, and SD-WAN services. A strategic, long-term partnership between Telia Carrier and Telia Company has been established following Telia Company’s divestment of Telia Carrier, to safeguard these unique, global offers and to develop new solutions for Telia’s customers.
Telia Carrier’s AS1299 network is ranked the world’s best-connected Internet backbone, directly connecting 65 percent of global Internet routes.
In the report, Gartner writes: “The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the true value of agility for enterprise networks as enterprises have had to rapidly change working practices, accelerate digital and cloud transformations, and cope with rapidly changing business circumstances. Organizations using flexible technologies and sourcing approaches have been much better able to support the rapid accommodation of new endpoints, new applications and new network capabilities, while controlling their WAN expenditure.”
“There is a strong transformation trend among our customers, where more and more services and solutions move to the cloud,” says Telia Company’s Head of Telia Global Business, Pernilla Wikman. “That requires a secure, trustworthy, and reliable network so we are truly grateful for the Gartner recognition. It shows that we are the provider with the best network in the Nordics and Baltics and with exclusive access to the world leading global backbone, which is of course good for our customers.”
