Telia Nätservice changes name to Neterna in Sweden

Telia Nätservice (Network Construction and Support), a company in Telia's Enterprises business area, changed its name today to Neterna. Operations comprise the service, maintenance, installation and operation of Telia's fixed networks. The company's sales totaled SEK 1.9 billion in 1999.
"We're changing our name to profile us as an independent company," explains Per Murander, Managing Director of Neterna. "Telia is currently our largest customer, although our clientele is growing and all of our new customers come from outside the Telia Group." In connection with the name change, Neterna will also introduce its own logotype that will be used in all of the company's communication activities. For example, the most immediate change will be made to Neterna's fleet of about 1,500 company vehicles, which will be given a new design. "I think it is important that Neterna's customers feel that we are an independent company that stands on its own feet and is separate from Telia," says Annika Swanberg, Neterna's Business Manager. Neterna's operations range from repairing cables to installing data nodes for broadband networks. The company's technical personnel must possess knowledge spanning an entire spectrum of technology, from conventional telecom work to the latest in high-tech communications. "The competence of Neterna's 2,400 employees is both broad and cutting-edge.
