The Swedish organisation BRIS (The Children's Right in Society) is carrying out a campaign together with Halebop, Sweden's largest mobile portal. All owners of a mobile phone are offered the possibility to send out a Christmas greeting via SMS at a cost of 10 Swedish crowns. The whole profit, excluding the cost of sending the messages over the different operators' network, goes to BRIS.
In Sweden around 30 million SMS are sent per week. SMS has become a very popular way of communicating. Therefore BRIS and Halebop have chosen to carry out this campaign via SMS. - We want to support BRIS in their important work to help children and youth in Sweden. Therefore we have chosen to donate our services and a large number of SMS to make this campaign possible, says Mattz Alpberg at Halebop. Those who want to send a Christmas greeting via SMS and support BRIS, can send an SMS with the short name BRIS and the mobile number of the receiver (for example: BRIS 07XXXXXXXX) to phone number 72288. - This is a new and good way of helping BRIS to help children. Unfortunately there is an increasing need for support to children and youth in Sweden today and BRIS needs every crown, says Göran Harnesk, Secretary-General at BRIS. - - - Halebop is Sweden's largest mobile portal. www.halebop.se offers more than 150 exciting services specifically designed for mobile use. The services are operator and hardware independent, and can be accessed via SMS, WAP or GPRS. Halebop also offers the cash card payment alternative, Halebop Mobil, which is competitively priced and offers a choice of connection alternatives. The Halebop Mobil card also creates its own menu in the user's mobile telephone which provides direct shortcuts to services that are available on the portal. In this way, it is possible to simply access the total service package offered by Halebop.
