Telia, Microsoft and WM-data have entered into a partnership regarding mobile services for the mobile office. The three-way partnership is a new way of providing a united front in order to further meet customer requirements. The companies will offer Telia's business solution Telia Mobile Access.
The partnership means that commercial customers will receive a total solution and have access to work tools even outside the office, for example access to e-mail addressed to the company, their calendar, contacts, to-do list and parts of the corporate intranet via mobile phone.
The parties are all contributing their particular leading expertise. Microsoft is supplying software which allows Outlook to be used on mobile phones and Telia is offering WAP access to Outlook and SMS notification of incoming e-mails, while WM-data is responsible for the integration work.
"This partnership will allow us to offer a total solution and together provide customers with a product providing accessibility and better control of total costs," explains Anders Bruse, head of Telia Mobile Sweden.
Telia Mobile Access works with a normal GSM or a GPRS phone as well as other mobile devices that support WAP. The advantage of GPRS is that customers can be constantly connected to the Internet or their corporate intranet, while only having to pay for the data sent or received.
Telia Mobile Access allows staff to work more efficiently, for example when travelling and out visiting customers, as they always have access to their normal work tools. The service is primarily aimed at medium and large companies on the Swedish market.
