Telia launches the first optical wavelength between Poland and the Czech Republic
Telia International Carrier is building out the Viking Network in Eastern Europe. The new connection between Warsaw and Prague became operative on March 1. This is the first wavelength link ever between Poland and the Czech Republic.
Starting March 1 Telia provides telecomm and Internet operators with international communication over the new wavelength connection.
- Telia International Carrier has a strong market position in Central and Eastern Europe where we have a first movers advantage. The link between Warsaw and Prague is a further move to offer our customers global connection through our Viking Network and the vast Telia product portfolio, says Erik Heilborn, President Telia International Carrier.
Thanks to the new link, Telias Polish network now consists of a ring with a double connection to the rest of the Viking Network. Customers are thus assured secure and reliable communication channels.
