TeliaSonera Sweden signs agreement with RSV and SEB for electronic identity solution

TeliaSonera has signed an agreement with the Swedish National Tax Board (RSV), which will now use Telia's e-identity solution for its Internet services. SEB has also decided to use Telia's e-identity solution for its Internet banking customers.
As a result of the agreements, the number of Swedes who will gain access to e-identities will increase considerably. SEB has over 700,000 active Internet banking customers. More than half a million Swedes also submitted their tax forms via the Internet this year. In addition to web-based tax forms, RSV offers a number of other Internet-based services, such as online tax accounts and a service for registering companies.
With the agreements with SEB and RSV, TeliaSonera has taken yet another step towards fulfilling its goal to offer the Swedish market a standardized service and solution for electronic identification. A few weeks ago, TeliaSonera signed a similar agreement with the Swedish Post Office (Posten), to take over Posten's CA (Certificate Authority) unit, which issued certificates for electronic identity.
"Now TeliaSonera will definitely be the market leader in Sweden when it comes to issuing e-identities. In the long term, I hope this will be a breakthrough for e-business and the development of the so-called 24-hour authority," says Anders Gylder, head of the Large Corporate Customers Segment at TeliaSonera Sweden.
Anders Gylder recently participated in the Network Telecom trade show in Stockholm, where he presented his vision to provide all Swedes with an e-number. This would help accelerate investments in information technology and increase market growth in Sweden, he said.
"The mobile telephone will be the wallet of the future. With an e-number and access to mobile services, it will be completely possible for people to make all kinds of transactions, anywhere and at any time," says Anders Gylder.
