TeliaSonera Finland expands Auria's customer service centre

TeliaSonera Finland expands Auria's present customer service centre in Turku. A competence centre focusing on broadband and Internet will be established in connection with Auria's present customer service centre, allowing a gradual increase of personnel, bringing the number up to 80-100 employees.
At present, Auria's customer service centre in Turku employs some 40 persons. The customer service centre specialised in broadband and Internet services will handle TeliaSonera Finland's and Auria's technical customer service and consumer customer service.
- With the growth in broadband services and new mobile communications services, there is a clear need to increase the number of customer service personnel. We believe that fast and high-quality customer service is a competitive advantage for service providers, says Anni Vepsäläinen, President of TeliaSonera Finland.
The new operations start in spring 2004 with personnel recruitment for the technical customer service from March onwards. The customer service centre - located in the Auria premises - is part of TeliaSonera Finland's nationwide customer service.
Turku offers excellent opportunities to increase operations
TeliaSonera Finland has similar customer service centres in nine towns in Finland: Helsinki, Lahti, Lappeenranta, Jyväskylä, Vaasa, Kristiinankaupunki, Rovaniemi, Kuusamo and Varkaus.
- Turku is a highly suitable location for the new competence centre. Turku is a university city with potential work force, in addition to technological expertise, says Anni Vepsäläinen.
- The current customer service centre of Auria, together with the company's strong position in the broadband market in the region, provides an excellent basis for increasing the new unit's operations, says Eero Sinkkonen, President of Auria.
At the turn of the year, TeliaSonera Finland set up a unit in Turku focusing on the combining of ICT and public health services. The unit, which initially will have between five and eight employees, will start operational activities within the next few weeks.
