As of today (Aug. 9), all of Telia's mobile customers using the Telia Go mobile service can download music, ring tones and pictures of popular artists right on their mobile handsets. TeliaSonera Sweden has signed an agreement with Ericsson for the M-USE mobile music content service. According to the terms of the agreement, Telia distributes the service and Ericsson is responsible for operating and maintaining it.
Today, Telia Go is opening a brand new department that will be in the games, audio and image category on Telia Go and contain music, ring tones and MMS images of artists from the major record companies Sony Music and Warner Music International. The material is downloaded directly onto mobile phones via the Telia Go service. With this new collaboration, Telia Sonera Sweden's mobile customers gain access to original music from international and Swedish artists like Anastacia, Alanis Morissette, Gunther & The Sunshine Girls, Lena Philipsson and Patrik Isaksson. A large range of ring tones offered through Telia Go is now being broadened further through the launch of Ericsson's M-USE music content service.
Ericsson is operating and maintaining the service and the contacts with the record companies. Ericsson is also responsible for adding the latest content from the major record companies. Telia Go customers can create their own profile for favourite artists and personalize the information sent to them.
For example, a Telia Go user can receive two MMS pictures of an artist and a 30-second music clip for SEK 25. An artist's greeting and ringback tone, which are in the new Realtones audio format, will also cost SEK 25 each. Polyphonic ring tones, background images and autographs cost SEK 15 each.
