A new support service for Sonera’s broadband customers

Sonera’s broadband customers can obtain support of various kind for broadband usage by means of Sonera Internet Assistant, downloaded straight on the computer. The service makes it possible to carry out fault repair measures or contact, through chat, Sonera’s technical customer service. If need be, the user can give Sonera’s technical customer service the permission for remote access to the computer for a while, in which case the problem can be located easily with the direct help of the customer service employee.
Sonera has introduced new service, which allows the customer to clear different kind of issues relating to the use of the Internet easily and smoothly. Sonera Internet Assistant makes it possible to search for up-to-date information on the Internet use and carry out fault investigation and repair for the web browser, e-mail and broadband connection. The service use is cost-free.
Sonera Internet Assistant can be downloaded on the computer on the www.sonera.fi/internetavustaja site. After installation of the program, fault investigation is possible even when the broadband connection is not on. In such a case, the program itself checks the computer settings and tells the user where the fault may lie. With the Etätuki service, direct communication with the Sonera technical customer service is possible. If needed, the user can give Sonera’s technical customer service the permission for remote access to the computer for a while, in which case the problem can be located easily with the direct help of the customer service employee.
“For the customer, this is an efficient and easy way to take care of possible broadband problem situations. Our customers have hoped for another way than phone to contact our customer service. The Etätuki service now offers this alternative to our customers. Instead of calling the customer service, the customer can now follow on his own computer how Sonera’s technical customer service solves the problem with the aid of remote access. I’m sure this, if anything, can be referred to as good service,” says Development Specialist Antti Koskinen of TeliaSonera Finland.
Sonera will provide all its new broadband customers with Sonera Internet Assistant together with the broadband installation package. The program can be downloaded straight from the www.sonera.fi/internetavustaja site. The operating systems supported by Sonera Internet Assistant are Windows 98 / ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The program can be used with the Internet Explorer browser versions 5 and 6. The e-mail and newsgroups fault investigation only works with the Outlook Express e-mail program.
