TeliaSonera Finland Oyj and DHL Finland have signed an agreement on the delivery of voice and data communications services for all DHL Finland companies at their about 30 local sites. The agreement will be in force for two years.
The agreement covers for example about 1300 mobile phone subscriptions, their switchboard services and several hundreds of vehicle terminal data subscriptions, whose importance in the data transmission of the mobile fleet is on a continuous increase. The data transmission takes place based on gprs or 3G, depending on the situation. The company has already earlier acquired the nationwide universal access numbers from TeliaSonera Finland.
DHL is step by step migrating mainly into the use of mobile phones. DHL’s internal voice traffic will be transferred as IP-based into the DataNet-based data communications network that has already earlier been in the company’s use and that has been delivered by TeliaSonera Finland.
” DHL selected TeliaSonera Finland as its partner also for the years to come. Our views of growth are good. In July, we opened a new, extensive logistics centre in Vantaa, in the neighbourhood of the airport, where we are focusing all our logistics services of the capital area. Productive operations require that we have continuously up-to-date information about our fleet, and cost-effective voice services. For that we need a telecommunications solution provider with sufficiently broad shoulders and highly-appreciated competences”, says Hannu Danielsson, Manager, Local IS Development.
”For us the now signed agreement with DHL Finland is an important milestone and a clear indication of our strong ability of serving our logistics customers, too. As a reliable supplier of telecom services we want to be in a central role in the development of our customers’ profitability. TeliaSonera is a leading telecommunications company in the Nordic and Baltic countries with a strong presence in Euraasia, Turkey and Russia. Internationally, we have top-level competences including continuous investments in high quality. We want to focus our resources on promoting our customers’ businesses”, says Senior Vice President Timo Levoranta of TeliaSonera Finland’s Enterprise Services.
