TeliaSonera and Kesko have expanded their partnership by signing a significant cooperation agreement on the provision of information logistics services until the end of 2009. By these services, TeliaSonera will streamline and secure the operations of Kesko and its cooperation partners by networking their places of business with modern data communications services.
TeliaSonera will build a secure closed network for Kesko for the purpose of information logistics management. The network will be used for monitoring building-technological systems and for data transmission.
The solution allows the building-technological systems to be linked to a single data transmission connection, over which information can be provided to control centres, operational staff and other technological systems. TeliaSonera monitors and secures the connections, and provides all the assistance needed for the management of the data transmission of facilities at one address.
“The good experiences of our long cooperation in the data transmission of building-technological systems and our belief in TeliaSonera’s willingness to develop our partnership according to our needs made us select TeliaSonera. In addition, the agreement unifies our present operating model and also provides a platform for integrating our new functions and systems with the reliable, efficient and well-functioning entity. Kesko wishes to provide efficient preconditions for its partners’ operations and their continuous development. As part of corporate social responsibility, Kesko focuses strongly on monitoring the conditions and energy consumption of its facilities, and the solution now selected is believed to further improve their management,” says Kesko’s Facilities Manager Ari Mäkinen.
“The services provided by TeliaSonera offer a high-quality and cost-effective way to combine the electronic monitoring systems and remote management of Kesko’s different places of business and thereby promote the security of Kesko’s products, services and facilities as well as the automation and productivity of the company’s operations,” says Vice President Tuomo Merentie of TeliaSonera Integrated Enterprise Solutions and continues:
“Our strategic partnership with Kesko dates back to 2003, and we are very happy to deepen it. Today, we focus on it with a pan-Nordic operating model, which I hope will concretely support the customer’s business and facilitate their cooperation with TeliaSonera.”
