TeliaSonera presents the best mobile Internet services in the Nordic and Baltic Regions – winners of the 2007 SurfPort Awards

At a gala celebration held last night in Stockholm, winners of the 2007 SurfPort Awards – theNordic and Baltic region's best mobile content services for SurfPort – were announced. Thewinners were chosen from six different categories.

"Those of us on the jury had great fun, but an extremely difficult task selecting the 2007 winners," says Indra Åsander, Head of TeliaSonera's mobile content services for the European region. "It has been tremendously exciting to see so many excellent, creative ideas within the area of mobile content services," she says.

Best newcomer – the prize goes to the Norwegian bank, DNB.

During 2007, DNB Mobile Banking Services introduced a complete line of banking services designed for a mobile platform. By doing so, they proved that it is possible to provide these services in a way that is both safe and user friendly.

Best service for user-generated content – the prize goes to Moblogas Impartner from Lithuania.

This is Lithuania's first mobile blog where you can upload both photos and text in real time with direct support via the Internet. Currently, there are 26,000 new users each month.

Best mobile music service – the prize goes to Mobile Karaoke /Digital Voice from Finland.

Karaoke directly in your mobile. This is a new music service that was developed prior to the Eurovision Song Contest. The customer is able to download both music and text via an MMS – directly to their mobile and ready to play.

Best mobile TV service – the prize goes to Sweden's TV4.

This is the most popular mobile TV service in Sweden. It provides news coverage along with creative, innovative program ideas, such as Idol TV.

Best mobile game – the prize goes to Sweden's EA Games.

The company won because of their ability to deliver popular, high quality games such as: SIMS, FIFA, the Simpsons and Tiger Woods. They have also succeeded in achieving high sales from their portal, resulting in a high number of downloads.

Customers' Choice – the prize goes to the mobile news portal, "100 Seconds Video News," from Lithuania. This service is produced by Spaudos Televizija. It is a popular news service with 30,000 unique users each month and a very popular downloading service. This prize was awarded based on votes from TeliaSonera's customers.

The SurfPort Awards are the most important event of the year for content providers and mobile Internet providers. This is the third year in a row that TeliaSonera has organized the SurfPort Awards. The purpose is to reward the year's best mobile content service providers for SurfPort. They are also intended to inspire others to develop new user friendly, smart services for the mobile.
