Gregory Singh, has been appointed Managing Director of DataInfo Oy as of today. Mr Singh comes from Enea AB where he has been working as SVP Global Services. He has worked more than 25 years in IT-industry in several companies like Ericsson, Digital Equipment AB and Cygate Group. According to Mr Bengt Lundgren, (Chairman of the Board) DataInfo is in a transition phase from being a hardware company to becoming a more solution oriented company with a higher degree of services. The transition is developing in a positive way but there is still a lot of work ahead to reach the new vision.
DataInfo’s traditional business is a low margin business which is under constant price pressure. A move to a more services oriented business model is a good way to build higher margins and move up in the value chain.
“Company’s sales has grown rapidly and now services cover already one quarter of total sales, but this is just a beginnig. In this phase company needs a Managing Director with solid experience in service oriented sales. I believe that Mr Singh has an extremely good background and experience to make this vision true. His prime focus will be to concentrate on sales coverage, services content, delivery quality and good co-operation with Sonera and the other fully owned subsidiaries Cygate and Crescom”, says Mr Lundgren.
“Jorma Maaninka has done a real good job in the first phase of the transition and has during the last years scaled down the organization and started to rebuild the organization again. The management change has nothing to do with the performance of the Company, says Mr Lundgren.
