New Head of External Communication

Thomas Jönsson has been appointed Vice President and Head of External Communication at TeliaSonera. He will take up his position on 1 June and report to Cecilia Edström, Senior Vice President and Head of Group Communication.
As Head of External Communication, Thomas Jönsson will act as a spokesperson of the Group and lead the external communications team responsible for media relations, PR, web, social media and branding at group level.
“Thomas Jönsson combines considerable management experience in running global communication efforts with expertise in telecommunications and consumer branding. He will bring valuable competence to TeliaSonera and I look forward to welcoming him on board,” says Cecilia Edström.
Thomas will replace Jacob Broberg, currently Head of Corporate Communication, who will leave the TeliaSonera Group for a new position.
Thomas Jönsson, aged 44 is currently Vice President Markets & Regional Communications at Nokia. His responsibilities include PR activities, internal and external communication across all continents. Thomas joined Nokia in 1999, as Communications Manager for Scandinavia and has held a number of positions for both Nokia Mobile Phones and Nokia Networks, amongst others as Director of Communications for Greater China. Prior to joining Nokia he was employed by Intel for three years. He has studied Business Administration at the University of Stockholm.
