TeliaSonera attracts talent with careers and development

As the competition for qualified personnel starts to accelerate, TeliaSonera is launching a combined recruitment and career development programme for people who have been working for a few years and have a university degree. Recruiting staff by focusing on their different experience and background is a core issue today in an industry where the competition is tough, and when the company has a profile that is becoming more and more international.

"Things are going well for TeliaSonera which is why we are now strengthening our operations by recruiting more skilled employees who want to join us on our exciting development journey. The programme offers a new and interesting career step for people who want to further develop professionally and also broaden their knowledge," says Karin Eliasson, Senior Vice President and Head of Group Human Resources at TeliaSonera.

"The goal is to get newly recruited staff quickly embedded in operations so they can operate in the company, and for the entire Group, and build their own networks. Job mobility over organizational boundaries is an important competitive factor for individuals and TeliaSonera," says Karin Eliasson.

The programme is for university graduates who have been working for a few years. Twenty vacant positions are to be appointed in four countries. The programme provides good insight into the entire TeliaSonera Group, which operates in 20 countries today and has one-third of its employees in Sweden.

The newly recruited employees will meet on five occasions in different countries. The programme's agenda places great emphasis on knowledge of the telecom industry, technological and market developments, profitability drivers and opportunities for personal development. Theory will be alternated with the exchange of experience. Members of TeliaSonera's management and senior specialists will actively participate as lecturers in the programme as well as external guest speakers. The participants will gain deep insight into TeliaSonera's strategies and organization during the programme.
