Changes in Telia Company's Group Executive Management
- 2019-01-25 06:15 UTC
Peter Borsos, Senior Vice President, Head of Group Communications and Chair of Division X, takes on a new role in Telia Company’s Group Executive Management and becomes Head of Telia Global. Åsa Jamal, currently Head of Communications, Telia Sweden, has been appointed Head of Group Communications and becomes a member of the Group Executive Management.
“With these changes within the Group Executive Management, we secure a continued strong focus on the execution of our strategy where we need to increase our growth within new prioritized areas. We also secure a continuity in fostering the corporate culture, sustainability efforts and commercial drive where we have a strong underlying cost-consciousness,” says Johan Dennelind, President and CEO of Telia Company.
By creating Telia Global, Telia Company increases its focus on multinational customers, partners, innovation and new services within business areas such as IoT, cloud and data analytics. Telia Global encompasses Division X, Telia Carrier, Global Business, Telia Ventures and Telia Company’s common innovation agenda.
“Telia has the number one internet backbone globally and we also have a growing offering of IoT-services, as one example, where customers often are multinational. By converging these cross-border businesses into Global, we will to an even higher extent be able to meet our customers’ needs,” says Peter Borsos.
Peter Borsos will leave his role as Head of Group Communications at Telia Company but will remain a member of the Group Executive Management in his new role. Åsa Jamal, currently Head of Communications, Telia Sweden, has been appointed new Head of Group Communications.
“I will continue to drive change within Telia Company focusing on supporting the commercial agenda and strengthening the company’s image in all our markets. Telia Company is in a new phase where it in all material aspects has completed the journey of exiting Eurasia to now focus exclusively on the Nordics and Baltics. We have some exciting times ahead. Two questions on the agenda are to support our cultural journey and further work with our position within sustainability,” says Åsa Jamal.
Åsa Jamal joined Telia Company in the summer of 2017. She has previously held a position as Head of Communications and HR at Bonnier Broadcasting and within the TV4-Group. Åsa Jamal has extensive experience from strategic communication and change processes. She has also been Managing Director and advisor at communication agency JKL.
Peter Borsos joined Telia Company in 2014 and previously held positions as Head of Communications at Swedbank. He has previously had a number of management positions within Swedbank and Ålandsbanken.
Both changes in the Group Executive Management come into effect on February 1, 2019. Telia Company’s Group Executive Management will consist of 12 members as of that date.
