YOUNITE

YOUNITE is Telia Company’s employee volunteering program. Through YOUNITE we enable and encourage our employees, as part of their employment, to engage in activities and societal contributions connected to digitalization in our communities. By becoming active contributors, employees are given one day per year to create a notable impact on society’s digitalization journey.

The initiative is part of Telia Company’s ongoing work to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activities within YOUNITE, called quests, all relate to digitalization in some way. Some examples of quests are:

Promoting the spreading of digital skills - such as introducing children to programming. By supporting children in learning new skills and developing an interest in digital skills, we contribute to SDG4: Quality education.
Inspiring children or students to pursue work in the tech sector - such as inviting students to our offices or informing children about our industry. By inspiring youth to pursue a career in tech we contribute to creating future ICT professionals and spur innovation, supporting SDG8: Decent work and economic growth.
Supporting entrepreneurs in the digital field - for example by mentoring. By coaching entrepreneurs in the digital sector, YOUNITE promotes economic productivity, growth and innovation, supporting SDG8: Decent work and economic growth.
Introducing digital services to those who are not yet fully connected - such as seniors or new citizens. Through these activities, we promote digital inclusion and support SDG10: Reduced inequalities.

Engaging in work to fight the side effects of digitalization - such as informing about cyberbullying or the risks connected to excessive screen time. Through these activities, YOUNITE contributes to SDG3: Good health and well-being and SDG16: Peace, justice and strong institutions.
