As part of the ICT industry, Telia Company contributes to a more sustainable society by providing services that enable customers to minimize their negative environmental footprint, improve their operational efficiency and reduce cost. We create value for our customers and for society through development and continuous improvement of our environmental impacts in a conscious, resource efficient and cost efficient manner.
The environment policy defines how Telia Company works to pro-actively manage its environmental impacts. The principles apply in the context of the full life cycle impact of providing products and services to our customers.

Freedom of expression and surveillance privacy policy
Freedom of expression and surveillance privacy are at the core of our business. The Global Network Initiative (GNI) principles on freedom of expression and privacy guide us in our ongoing work. The Telia Company Board of Directors adopted a Freedom of Expression & Surveillance Privacy policy with the primary purpose to reduce human rights risk in connection with government surveillance of communications, and to ensure that our customers feel confident that Telia Company respects and safeguards their freedom of expression.

GLOBAL NETWORK INITIATIVE (GNI)
All over the world companies in the ICT-sector face increasing government pressure to comply with domestic laws and policies in ways that may conflict with the internationally recognized human rights of freedom of expression and privacy.
In response, a multi-stakeholder group of companies, civil society organizations (including human rights and press freedom groups), investors and academics – together some 80 entities - have joined together in a collaborative approach to protect and advance freedom of expression and privacy in the ICT sector, and formed this Global Network Initiative (GNI). Telia Company is an active member of the GNI. Our active participation stimulates shared learning on how to best respect freedom of expression and privacy and provides leverage to advocacy promoting freedom of expression and privacy in the ICT industry.
